 - An Industry Friend
Recently, Maryland's Labor Secretary announced Thomas J. Meighen would be Commissioner of the Division of Labor and Industry.  Tom is a friend of the construction  industry.  He has worked with our Safety Director, Vince Miller, on many occasions to promote safety. Tom was an instructor for our annual Project Management training program from 1997 to 2004.  The Chapter congratulates Tom on his appointment.
The new commissioner brings more than 25 years of human resources, risk and safety management, and occupational health experience to the position. Since 2007, he has worked as the Director of Risk Management and Human Resources for the Kirlin Group, where he implemented policy and provided oversight for the safety, risk management, and human resources processes for a 1,400 employee firm. Prior to that, he served as the Vice President of Stromberg Metal Works, where he implemented safety and risk management programs.
